What is the MOD Smart Home App?
The MOD Smart Home App allows you to control your MOD Smart fixtures right from your phone — adjust brightness, turn them on/off, and set lighting scenes with ease.
Which products are compatible?
Our Smart Home App works exclusively with Haylen (Smart Lights) and Haylen RGB (Smart Lights), which include the built-in smart chip needed for pairing.
How can I tell if my fixture is a Smart Version?
You can confirm if your fixture is a Smart Version by checking your product name—if it includes “Smart Light”, it is the smart version. Smart Versions are only available for orders placed after September 2025. You can also contact us with your order number.
What if my older MOD fixture isn’t compatible?
Only Smart Version fixtures can connect to the app. If your fixture isn’t compatible, we’d be happy to recommend upgrade options.
SETUP & CONNECTION
How do I connect my fixture to the app?
To connect your fixture:
- Download the MOD Smart Home App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Follow the steps in our How to Connect Video to set up your fixture.
The app can’t find my fixture. What should I do?
If your fixture isn’t appearing:
- Make sure it’s a Smart Version and the wall switch is turned ON.
- Try resetting the fixture and pairing again, ideally close to your Wi-Fi router.
Should I use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to control my lights?
We recommend using Wi-Fi for the best control of your MOD Smart fixtures. Bluetooth is only for initial pairing if Wi-Fi isn’t available, and it has limited range and features.
TROUBLESHOOTING
My device won’t pair with the app. What should I do?
If your device isn’t pairing:
- Please make sure it’s connected to the remote/controller first and that the device is blinking, indicating it’s in pairing mode.
- Then pair it with the app, following all steps in the pairing guide
The device disconnects from the app. Why?
For your fixture to stay connected, keep the wall switch ON and use the app for control. If it disconnects, simply re-pair it in the app.
The app is crashing or not opening.
- Please try closing and reopening the app
- Ensure it’s updated to the latest version.
- If the issue continues, uninstall and reinstall the app.
Fixture not responding after pairing
- Make sure the wall switch is ON and the app shows the device as online.
- If it still isn’t responding, check your Wi-Fi connection and signal strength.
